What to check before agreeing

If conditioning will take place after delivery, agree separately on its cost and the basis for settlement weight. Check transport availability and whether the destination can receive the agreed volume. If a batch comes from several storage locations, clarify whether its specifications are consistent throughout.

  • Commodity grain or planting material.
  • Moisture, impurities and grain analysis results.
  • Drying and cleaning needs, and who pays for them.
  • Settlement weight, receiving location and delivery schedule.

What sellers should prepare

State the exact crop, volume in tonnes, storage location and loading window. Attach analysis results for this specific batch. Specify the currency, price per tonne, VAT treatment, delivery and whether partial shipments are possible. This lets buyers compare offers without guessing what the price includes.

Storage and transport

Agree on loading and receiving locations, weighing equipment, who takes samples and the documents accompanying the batch. For delivery to a grain elevator, confirm receiving hours and available services directly with the facility.
