Buy and sell sunflower in Ukraine

When buying sunflower, clarify the intended use and type of batch. Distinguish processing material from planting seed or a specialised raw material. Check the buyer’s quality requirements against the analysis for the actual batch.

What to check before agreeing

Ask whether settlement depends on actual oil content and how moisture and impurities are treated. If the buyer has specific requirements for high-oleic material, agree on how these will be verified. Clarify whether the quoted price includes delivery, VAT and any other charges.

  • Commodity use and sunflower type.
  • Oil content, moisture and impurities in the batch analysis.
  • How the price is adjusted after receiving.
  • Delivery, VAT and final payment date.

What sellers should prepare

State the exact crop, volume in tonnes, storage location and loading window. Attach analysis results for this specific batch. Specify the currency, price per tonne, VAT treatment, delivery and whether partial shipments are possible. This lets buyers compare offers without guessing what the price includes.

Storage and transport

Agree on loading and receiving locations, weighing equipment, who takes samples and the documents accompanying the batch. For delivery to a grain elevator, confirm receiving hours and available services directly with the facility.
