What to check before agreeing

Ask for a batch analysis and clarify where and when the sample was taken. If the price will be adjusted after receiving tests, agree on the laboratory and how discrepancies will be resolved beforehand. Treat transport and conditioning costs separately from the grain price.

  • Intended use and declared grain grade.
  • Protein, gluten, moisture and impurities in the batch analysis.
  • Volume, storage location and shipment schedule.
  • Receiving, laboratory testing and payment terms.

What sellers should prepare

State the exact crop, volume in tonnes, storage location and loading window. Attach analysis results for this specific batch. Specify the currency, price per tonne, VAT treatment, delivery and whether partial shipments are possible. This lets buyers compare offers without guessing what the price includes.

Storage and transport

Agree on loading and receiving locations, weighing equipment, who takes samples and the documents accompanying the batch. For delivery to a grain elevator, confirm receiving hours and available services directly with the facility.
